Rant: You are writing out a card, or making a flyer, etc, and you get to the last line..... Do you say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. Personally I cant stand the fact that as I go to write MERRY CHRISTMAS I now feel weird about it. Happy Holidays to me takes the ENTIRE spirit of CHRISTMAS and throws it down the drain. It makes it sound generic and cheap, and like the only thing we should be doing is spending money. Christmas time is a special time of year. Everyone wants to be good year round, but around christmas people just are in a giving spirit. You dont have to believe in christ to believe that this time of year is special. Christmas Spirit is SPECIAL! Its powerful and infectious in people, it can make people give to those in need when they normally wouldnt, and go the extra mile in all directions. But holiday spirit?? Blek. I dont like that saying Merry Christmas has now become offensive, and I worry that if I say it some people will shy away or think less of me. However, I also dont care about that, so I say MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! What say you, or merry Ranters and Ravers?
