Strater Hotel: As the hotel evolved, it proved to be a popular winter retreat for Durango townsfolk who would close their own homes during the cold winter months and move into the hotel. Through the years it has had its changes but still stays true to its historic roots. Currently, the Strater Hotel houses the world’s largest collection of American Victorian Antiques, many of which decorate the 93 rooms in the hotel. The Strater Hotel is home to the Durango Melodrama, Henry Strater Theatre, The Office Spiritorium, Diamond Belle Saloon, Mahogany Grille, and 1887 Catering. Thanks The Art Institute of Colorado
