Read Jeremiah 25:1 through 27:22 For twenty-three years, Jeremiah - TopicsExpress

Read Jeremiah 25:1 through 27:22 For twenty-three years, Jeremiah had faithfully proclaimed the words of the Lord to people who refused to listen. But then, that’s not surprising. It’s all too easy to be lulled into complacency and to call evil good and wrong right. Israel had slid down the slippery slope of sin and become deaf and dumb to the consequences. “But you did not listen to me,” declares the Lord, “and you have aroused my anger with what your hands have made, and you have brought harm to yourselves” (Jeremiah 25:7). People have not changed. It is still all too easy to ignore what we don’t want to hear despite the dire consequences or the great blessings that come if we turn from evil. Our postmodern culture professes that there are no moral absolutes and dismisses the “god” of the Bible as powerless and irrelevant. Christians are judged as intolerant for embracing a biblical worldview. What of the consequences? Jesus said, “You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved” (Matthew 10:22). Challenge for Today: Regardless of the consequences, I will stand for Christ.
