Read the article. Get past the jab at the moron Ryan. This is a letter to all Americans, all peoples actually. When the thought crosses your mind, well poor people should tighten their belts... should do without this without that, read this. Think. Dont prejudge, dont think you know best. If you dont know their story, then you have no right to even begin to suggest anything. And yes, this does also go to cigarettes (which I despise). You dont know if they actually help calm nerves. I know one person in particular, very very close to me, who smoked because it helped calm things down, all this while she battled a bipolar condition and a thoroughly stressful life. Dont judge if someone has cable and/or internet, it is probably their only lifeline to the world, otherwise they sit in a dark room, alone. YOU dont know what someone else is going through. YOU dont have the right to make their decisions, nor to deem them worthy or not.
