Really proud of Sadies and NW Dance and Acros weekend at #Celebritydance Celebrity Dance competition this weekend. Celebrity does a great job of encouraging a supportive dance atmosphere...yes, its a competition, but sportsmanship and relationships are also emphasized. I like that. Sadie had a tough age division, with many very accomplished dancers. She was smack in the middle age-wise, but pulled out a platinum and high gold for her two solos. Wonderland (platinum) received 2nd in lyrical category, and Pixie Dust (high gold) received 1st in the open category. Their trio received 1st overall, and her groups did very well, too! Icing on the cake: Sadie decided to do Dance Down. Because her birthday was five days ago, she was bumped into the senior division (12 and up). She learned the combo, danced her heart out, marketed herself onstage, making it to the last round before finalists. Out of 135 dancers (12-18 yos), she made it to the top 25ish. Such a difference from last year, when her confidence level had her dancing practically behind the curtains in the wings. :) She and I both had a great time with our amazing studio families, and also enjoyed connecting with friends from other studios!
