#Reflections Its interesting to learn that the Legend of Madinah; Imam Malik (r.a) during his developmental years as a scholar habitualized certain practices like; lived in the very house which had survived the great companion Abdullah ibn Mas ud (r.a.) and assumed for delivering study circles within the Prophets Mosque (s.a.w.), the very same spot which was transmitted as the place where Umar (r.a.) would regularly teach from. I think aloud; was perhaps this symbolic identification with the rituals of these Mountains of Men (r.a.) a kind of preparation of mind? for a greatness to come? to almost envisage a legacy by sharing some proximity, some space with the legends before him. I wonder, if doing such rituals in return actually aided in the realisation of the Imams incredible and amazing legacy, for the Hadith Qudsi teaches us: I am with my servant (regarding his treatment) as he thinks of Me so, perhaps postive thoughts are more powerful than our regard for them...and perhaps by shifting our minds to think great... that greatness can actually be achieved! These are simply some rambling thoughts which occured to me whilst revisiting the Imams biography, I thought Id share them ...if theyre too strange then, as Ghalib says: Bak raha hun junun mein kya kya kuch Kuch na samjhe, Khuda kare koi What nonsense im uttering in this delusional state of mind, I hope that God doesnt let anyone understand any of it & Allah surely gives to whom He pleases without limitations!
