Reflections from Ethiopia by Pastor Jared Lee. Day 6. Today went well. It appears we got some of the kinks worked out of the system today and things ran rather smoothly. The kids learned about Noah and the flood today and then it rained on us for about 45 minutes. The timing couldnt have been better. It rained during lunch and then cleared up. What a great way to celebrate Gods promises! It seems the highlight of everyones trip so far is getting to know the kids and their families. On a personal note, Sofi (Sofonias) one of the kids my family sponsors, loves to hang out with me. He is just a cool kid. He just likes to sit next to me and hang out. After school let out today a young lady of about 12 or 13 came up to me and told me she was his sister. I enjoyed spending a few minutes with her and getting to know someone else in his family. Tomorrow Gage and I will visit their home. It is so encouraging to see the difference being made in peoples lives through this partnership. Not just theirs, but ours too. I spent some time with Berhanu today. He is one of the pastors of the church. I told him I feel like we are partners in ministry and we hugged several times as we spoke through an interpreter. These people are a wonderful blessing to me and to all of us who are investing in them. I receive far more from them than they will ever get from me. Be Loved. Go Deeper. Live It Out. Pastor Jared
