Reminiscing prior to 65th birthday on Friday ( 4 ) The Northallerton Years ( 1988 to date ) Autumn 1994 + Autumn 2004 Self Employed Chartered Structural Engineer + Lead Project Manager - family returned to Northallerton late 1987 ( some sixteen years after leaving town to work elsewhere ) - essentially Northallerton house prices out of range during the sixteen year absence. Operated from High St Office for many years - thanks much to the ongoing agreement with Mark W and his successful FS business - Good days. Head above the parapet - Elected onto Northallerton TC @ Jany 1994 - Elected onto Hambleton DC @ May 1999 - Elected onto North Yorks CC @ May 2005 - making a difference ( I like to think ! ). Skillset and mindset honed over 30 years engineering problem solving had to be adapted to be fit for purpose for making life better for local community - particularly local young people. Content with outcomes so far - vintage years 2003 to 2005 and 2008 to 2010 - Elected to serve as Mayor of Northallerton - a real privelege - loved the time Re car music during this time - REM + rediscovered Pink Floyd ( 20 years between release of New music - 1@1994 ( see photo ) + 1 @2014 ( see photo ).
