Rescue in Albania - A documentary film about the Jewish rescue in Albania during World War II. Its an honor, an undescribeable feeling to see that in difficult times for the Jewish people, Albanians (both from Albania and Kosovo, regardless if muslims or christians) stood up for them,opened their doors and gave their word to the Jews, the well known albanian BESA that they would protect and rescue them from the Germans even if the cost was their own lives. It is a fact that we have religious tolerance ( since were a nation of three religions, whove lived as one), and when it comes to human lives, we forget about the differences. Im sure everyone of us would do the same, if there ever comes a moment like this, when Humans are endangered by Humans. (I wish history never repeats itself) Despite the current political positions or opposing goals/viewpoints, despite every historical dissagreemnt, those Albanians proved that amongst all differences (racial,religious,political,etc) the one thing that unites us all is the fact that we are all HUMANS. It is true that in order to keep the given word (Besa), Albanians would risk their own lives! P.S: since the survived Jews are so much grateful to the Albanians (both from Albania and Kosovo) for rescuing/protecting them, I wonder when is Israel going to review its positions towards Kosovos Independence!!!
