Resist Attack at Every Level : Call from Sit-in 27th June: The three day long sit-in of Left Front against attack on democratic rights in West Bengal ended on Friday with a call to resist violent attacks at local and district levels. Left Front leaders declared from the concluding rally that from now on wherever there will attack on people and Left supporters, there will be demonstrations in front of police stations. Resistance to terror will be organized through peoples’ mobilizations. The continuous sit-in, which started on 25th June, was attended by hundreads of people from the districts, including family members of the martyrs. Many narrated their ordeal. Leaders of districts and mass organizations addressed the sit-in. Left Front leaders, including Biman Basu stayed through the night with comrades in the makeshift pandal in Rani Rashmini Road. Cultural programmes continued throughout the day and night. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee , addressing the large gathering on Friday said that the Left parties are committed to the cause of working people of the state. Therefore every attack on them, either physical or in the realm of livelihood will face resistance from Left Front. The state is reeling under economic crisis, factories are closing almost every day, no new industries have come up in last three years. On the other hand, every democratic and constitutional rights are being attacked. Bhattacharjee warned that BJP is trying to position themselves as opposituion party in West Bengal. There should not be any space for this dangerous force in the state. There is no space for RSS in the land of Tagore and Rammohun Roy.
