Response from GP already. A response I am pleased with. They are raising this as a significant event and will investigate. The investigating doctor who is the complaints manager has already identified three issues for further consideration: 1. the doctor who examined me didnt document that he advised me of safety regarding what to look out for - I confirmed this was because he didnt advise me of them, just told me it couldnt be perforated 2. didnt document the senior physician who he consulted with 3. cannot rule out a perforation on physical examination, I should not have been offered a standard referral for a scan but an emergency one The investigating doctor said I appeared to have almost been punished for gritting my teeth and getting on with it and therefore my pain was not taken seriously. He said I was brave - I want a lollipop and sticker.
