Ressies Report : EPFC 2 - 1 Peel Utd It was 1st v 3rd as East Perth Ressies took to the field today looking to tighten their grip on top stop and put distance between them and Peel side in 3rd only 3pts behind . With 4 straight wins and clean sheets in their last 4 games EPFC took to the field full of confidence and with one thing on their minds 3pts . It only 6 mins to take the lead when winger Liam mc Donald who has been in fantastic form in recent weeks hit a pinpoint low cross into the box for Patrick spudly Prodan to calmly stroke past the hapless keeper . East Perth were immediately under pressure after taking the lead and found themselves on the back foot from a very fast young peel team .Peel equalized with a lob from 40 yards catching Mario off his line after he rushed out to clear the ball , unaware that the lineman had his flag up for offside at the start of the move , 1-1 game on !! In an exciting game where both team created chances and possible Peel the best of them , East Perth took the lead against the run of play 5mins before half time . Lovely link up play between Liam and Gary Morrell who went through on goal to force a point blank save from the peel keeper for spudly to smash in the rebound . Making him joint top scorer with the departed striker Razor Connor . The second half kicked off with East Perth flying out of the blocks and created some great chances but just couldnt find that third goal . Peel now had their spell on top , and it was keeper Marius Super Mario Flanagan who keep us in the game , making three top class saves in a row . Midfielder Jap Connors also done his part on stopping the onslaught , nodding a top corner bound shot onto the bar . Peel hit the bar again minutes later from a pop shot , as each and every one of East Perth players stood tall to the challenge in hand with resolve and commitment for each other . Peel had to be careful not to push too many bodys forward in there search for an equaliser, with East Perth quick on the counter attack, with the midfield picking out pass after pass to the forwards , with Spudly and Liam both drawing saves from the peel keeper . In a match where a draw match might have been a fair result , East Perth showed the composure and mental strength to see out the game and take a massive 3pts on their title charge . Team : Marius Flanagan , Wes Murtagh , Dec Healy , David Doyle , John Tacy , Liam McDonald , Jap Connors , Gary Morrell , Shane Brennan , Ciaran Bryne , Patrick Prodan , Jason Delahan , Brendan Wright East Perth FC Respect All Fear None
