Retha Bowling, age 86 of Sunbright went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 30, 2014 after a brief illness. Retha was a faithful, long-time member of the White Oak Missionary Baptist Church in Sunbright. She retired from the Morgan County Correctional Facility and has been an active member of the Sunbright Senior Citizens. Retha will be remembered for her unwavering faith in the Lord, her love for family and her kind, easy-going spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents: Jones Davis and Flora Mae Dyer Davis, Sister: Iva Davis Cromwell, Brothers: Carson Davis and Sam Davis, Son-in-Law: Joe Hinton and her husband of 49 years: Walter Bowling. Retha is survived by Two Daughters: Susie Bailey of Sunbright and Wanda Hinton of Tavares, FL. Son: Ronald Bowling and wife Tilda Bowling of Glenmary Two Granddaughters: Rhonda Bowling Black and husband Edward of Cookeville, Sonya Bowling Brown and husband Chris of Cookeville One Great Grandson: Jacob Bowling of Murfreesboro Four Great Granddaughters: Abigail, Ashlyn and Avery Brown and Hannah Black all of Cookeville Sister: Lessie Jo Jones and husband L.C. of Sunbright Sister-in-law: Laurella Davis of Aiken, SC Nieces: Janet Clark, Aiken, SC, Sabra Coker, Sunbright, Gina Dyer and husband Michael, Wartburg, and Dawn Davis, Wartburg Nephews: Orville Cromwell and wife Karen, Schererville, IN, Danny Davis and wife Bonnie, Harriman and Robert Wright of Nashville Special Friends: Macel Chaney and Sue Scott The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Sunbright. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00PM with Bro. David Coffman and Bro. Stanley Hawkins officiating. Graveside service will be Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Sunbright Cemetery.
