Rev. 19:20 Delusion. The enemy is fantastic at delusion. And we believe him. We believe because believing allows our selfishness to be rewarded. It is only when his delusions begin to be destroyed by our suffering that we begin to seek truth. Even our repentance is birthed in our selfishness. But God forgives and we are recreated in His image. However, there are those who have been hurt by our selfishness who may not forgive as God has. They may, in part, be paying a price for the delusions you accepted and the fact that you finally changed only after your suffering began may inflame their pain. Even your forgiveness of their inability to forgive will make them angry. First, pray. Pray for them to see that they are repeating your mistakes and damaging other lives. Pray that the cycle can be broken. Second, accept. You may have to accept the slings of bitterness thrown at you. It may be your cost for your selfishness. Finally, testify. Tell those caught in the same cycle that waiting may cost more than they anticipated. Fourth, grow. Don’t ever allow the mistakes of the past to stifle the future.
