Review of The Rod And Reel This place had a terrible name but new owners have taken over. Chantel a young lady with fresh ideas who knows that the locals are important as well and not just the holidaymakers. Absolutely beautiful setting looking over the bay. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and have a sense of humour. The menu is good, offering everything from well filled toasties to pasta. Delicious Calamari and fish. Everyday there is a lunch special with things like crumbed pork chops and chips. Real pub grub prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Bar with big screen tvs for sport lovers and beautiful gardens with play area for kiddies. Sundays they offer a roast lunch at extremely good prices. Overall a very pleasant experience and good value for money. The only thing I would like to see added to their menu is a 500g steak. Many guys want that when eating out. Would I go back again? YES!!!! Would I send clients and friends there? YES!!!!! The Rod and Reel is on the N2 just before Shell Ultra City when one comes into Plett.
