Revolution OR Favours’ Anna Hazare started an indefinite hunger strike on 5 April 2011 to exert pressure on the Indian current government (Congress/UPA) to enact a strict anti-corruption law, The Lokpal Bill, 2011 as foreseen in the Jan Lokpal Bill, for the institution of an ombudsman with the power to deal with corruption in public places. The fast led to nation-wide protests in support. The fast ended on 9 April 2011, a day after the government accepted Hazares demands. The government issued a gazette notification on the formation of a joint committee, consisting of government and civil society representatives, to draft the legislation. There were several other people were there in support with Anna Hazare such as Kiran Bedi, VK Singh and Arvind Kejriwal. The 2012 Indian anti-corruption movement is the successor to similar activities that happened in 2011. The figurehead was Anna Hazare, a social activist. Popularly known as Team Anna (Kiran Bedi, VK Singh and Arvind Kejriwal.) one of the movements main demands was the passing of legislation enabling an anti-corruption and enforcement body. On 27 December 2011, the Lok Sabha - the lower house of the Indian parliament - passed the controversial Jan Lokpal Bill, which Team Anna said was weaker than they had been demanding. The bill suffered delays in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of parliament and could not get passed during the winter session. The government reintroduced the bill in the Rajya Sabha in February 2012 but the bill was not timetabled for debate and the session ended without this bill being passed. In March 2012, Kiran Bedi alleged that the Congress party had cheated them by introducing a watered-down anti-corruption bill. Hazare (Anna) declared that the protest movement would recommence and a mark of protest he sat on hunger strike on 25 March 2012 for one day. On 3 June, Hazare undertook another one-day fast at Jantar Mantar, where he was joined by Ramdev, a yoga guru. This attracted a large crowd in support. Jantar Mantar was the scene of an indefinite fast that began on 25 July and involved various members of Team Anna although Hazare was not involved until four days later. The focus on this occasion was a protest against the governments refusal of an inquiry against the prime minister and 14 cabinet ministers, whom they had accused of corruption. The fast ended on 3 August. Three days later, Hazare announced that since the government seemed to be unready to enact the Jan Lokpal Bill, he and his fellow activists had decided to end their fast, to discontinue talks with the government and to cease any protests under the Team Anna name. Towards the end of 2012, Hazare and Bedi reformed Team Anna, while Arvind Kejriwal and some others split from the previous apolitical movement with the intention of forming what was to become the Aam Aadmi Party. Ana team was only after the current government (Congress). However, Arvind Kejriwal who has formed a party (AAP) is after real corruption (Including Congress, BJP and some entrepreneurs as well). From here, some understandings come into mind that Team Anna and Kejriwal have some issues with each other that is because of Kejriwal is mentioning BJP in his speeches where it was never included in team Anna’s so called revolution. We have been listening from media that Anna Hazare is not happy with Kejriwal decisions. Yes off course he is not because Kejriwal is fighting against corruption and Team Anna is against Congress and other political parties (AAP). Indirectly Ana was supporting BJP from the first day. This story was written a month ago (Yes off course it has some online search as well) but never been posted somewhere. Today, (29/03/2014) it has been heard that Team Ana’s one more so called activist (VK Singh) joint BJP and Ms Kiran Bedi was praising Mr. Developer (Modi Ji) since long time.
