Rhetoric and promoting the devices of assimilation - this article suggests that Youth out-migration is going to result in erosion of Indigenous culture, jurisdiction and above all its attempting to make Nationhood Sovereignty of First Nations, fictitious. Believe what you may, the reality is that there are also scores of First Nation Youth that are defenders of their homelands, treaty territories and yes, those reserve lands are quite important to these Young People as well. Those that leave and dont intend to come back more than likely will change their minds when their heart speaks to them about the land in which their souls will always be connected.
