Rhodendron in Nepal: The term rhododendron is derived from the Greek words rhodos and dendron which mean rose and trees. It is known as Guras in Nepalese language. It is the national flower of Nepal.There are many huge and beautiful rhododendron forests throughout the country, Nepal. It can be found around the range of 1400 to 3600 meters height. Lali Guras or red rhododendron has a special room in the hearts of Nepalese people, culture and economic life. During March and April, it covers the hills with its grand beauty. There are 32 indigenous species of rhododendron found in Nepal. Tinjure-Milke-Jaljale area is called as TMJwhich lies in Sankhuwasabha,Taplejung and Tehrathum districts. TMJ is known as the capital of rhododendron. There can be found 28 indigenous species of rhododendron.
