Robert Maulana Marohombsar Alonto Yesterday · Edited There are two ways of looking at the whole picture: Those who created this Version did it out of ignorance or contempt. But I dont think it is out of ignorance. Negotiations have been going on for 17 years, which are more than an ample time for anyone involved in the peace process not to remain ignorant. No. It is not ignorance. It is contempt that animated the creation of this Version - contempt for the unique history of the Bangsamoro; contempt for the aspirations of the Bangsamoro people; contempt for their Islamic moorings; and contempt for the struggle of the Bangsamoro for justice. It is, to round it up, simply contempt for the Bangsamoro people. A contempt that - and this is the tragedy - deliberately erodes the whole gamut of peacemaking throughout the 17 years that we have been in the negotiating table frenziedly trying to hammer out a final solution to the Bangsamoro Question and end the vicious cycle of violence in the Bangsamoro Homeland. Perhaps, if the element of ignorance is involved those who forged this Version failed to see that their ignorance renders failure any peaceful political solution to the Bangsamoro Question. But even then, such ignorance, if at all, is inexcusable because its after-effect is irreversible. For, those who make peaceful change impossible are making violent change possible!
