Rudy passed away around 2 this morning. He never recovered his unknown ailment. I noticed that he was sick about a month ago, behavior changes, not able to eat etc. It took me a couple of weeks to catch him in that wooded area, and I finally secured him on Thanksgiving. He was at the vet several times, had full blood work, full x-rays, mouth check, body check, etc. the only thing found abnormal was his thyroid. I feel he had an undetected cancer, like Stubby before him. He had the heart and spirit of a warrior. He had been on fluids and antibiotics, along with a wide range of other meds in hopes to rouse him, but he finally decided to go to a better place. He did purr last night, for the first time while being brushed, so I thanked him for letting me be the person to hear him purr. I really loved Rudy, which is why I made a point of stalking and hunting him down, so that he didnt die alone and cold outside. Godspeed, Root, Root!
