Rufus is a chiweenie. Hes 8 lbs & @4 years old. He joined us June 2013 as one of the most terrified dogs weve ever rescued. He had only lived in a crate previously. Hes progressed so much since weve had him. Hes shy but never nips or growls. He is cautious when you approach him, but quickly gains confidence once he knows you better. He will back off if you reached for too quickly. Rufus loves to sleep in his fosters bed and cuddle against her. He enjoys the company the other dogs in his foster home and does not mind cats. He will never jump up onto your bed, table or couch...because I dont think he knows how. He will give a little turkey bark so that youll pick him up and bring him on to the couch with you. His cute little bark sounds like a turkeys gobble. Once completely comfortable in his new environment, Rufus will give tentative little kisses. Hes up to date on shots, flea and heartworm prevention. He is neutered and chipped. Hes heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $100. Rufus is in New Orleans, but we adopt to anywhere in the U. S.
