Rulers cannot suppress voice of truth through violence on media-men: Ch Shujat Hussain, Parvez Elahi PML leaders express gratitude to Asif Zardari, Altaf Hussain, Governor Ishratul Ebad and other leaders for their phone calls on their being targeted by police of shelling Islamabad/Lahore: 31-08-2014: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi have expressed heartfelt gratitude to political leaders for making telephone calls and leaders and workers who visited their residence in large number to inquire about their welfare after being targeted by the police of intense shelling. Those who had made telephone calls to inquire about their welfare included PPP Co-Chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari, MQM leader Altaf Hussain, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad and other prominent leaders. Meanwhile, both PML leaders have condemned in the strongest words worst police torture and violence on media representatives in Islamabad and said that the rulers could not suppress the voice of truth through violence on the media. They said the days of oppression were always numbered, rulers should better come to their sense, they were torturing every Pakistani including the elders, women and children besides the journalists for saving their power which was only for few days and they could not prolong it in this manner. They expressed grave concern over the facts stated by the journalists and their representative bodies that the police had unleashed severe torture and violence on journalists and cameramen of media groups who did not play to the rulers tunes beating them brutally by pulling them out of media signs vehicles and baton-charged them by pushing them down to the ground despite showing their media cards. #
