SCI Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) is severe damage to the spinal - TopicsExpress

SCI Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) is severe damage to the spinal cord which is mainly caused by trauma and diseases like car accident, gunshot, polio, spina bifida, Friedreich’s Ataxia, etc. SCI is very different from back injuries such as ruptured disks, spinal stenosis or pinched nerves. Spinal cord injuries usually begin with a blow that fractures or dislocates your vertebrae, the bone disks that make up your spine. The spinal cord does not have to be severed in order for a loss of functioning to occur. This represents one of the most common problems dealt with by neurologists and neurosurgeons. The intervertebral disk seperates most of the vertebral bony segments and has a close anatomic relationship with the spinal nerves and spinal cord. Anatomic aberrations (e.g. herniated disk) may produce nerve root compression, causing arm, trunk, or leg pain. Treatment may consist of bedrest, use of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory agents and/or surgical decompression. للتواصل معنا مهدي الأشقر هان - ألمانيا TEL: 0049 -152 0 982 9849 FAX: 0049 2129 348 9561 info@wecare-germany wecare-germany
