SEEK DAILY (NBC) Sunday, August 25 Nehemiah 13:15-22 RESTORING THE SANCTITY OF THE SABBATH In those days I saw men in Judah trading winepresses on the Sabbath and bringing in grain and loading it on donkeys,… And they were bringing all this into Jerusalem on the Sabbath. Therefore I warned them against selling food on that day. Nehemiah 13:15, NIV The fifth commandment of God says, “Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.” Nehemiah restored the sanctity of Sabbath in Judah. All God wants from you also is to keep the Sabbath day holy and restore its lost glory, place and sanctity in your life, church and community. God has already sanctified the Sabbath day and He commands us to keep it holy. Nehemiah fought against buying and selling on the Sabbath. In what way is the Sabbath being bastardised in your life, church and community that you need to stand against? Do you go to your business place on Sabbath? Do you practice unholy things on Sabbath? Assess yourself and if your answer is yes, change your ways by keeping the Sabbath day holy and the Lord of Sabbath will honour you.
