(((SNA))) Geelani reiterates shutdown call in Ganderbal, Bandipora on November 25. Srinagar, Nov 22: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani has reiterated his call for shutdown in Ganderbal and Bandipora on November 25 when the twin districts are scheduled to go for polls. He also urged the people of these districts to hold peaceful protests against the election on the evening of November 24. In a statement, Geelani termed the elections as “mere drama”. “In the wake of arbitrary measures, arrests and detention of youth and political activists these elections have lost their legality. Elections are unconstitutional, immoral and forced against the wishes of people,” he said. “We time and again warn our people against nefarious designs of National Conference, Congress, People Democratic Party, Peoples Conference, Communist Party. There is no difference between these parties but are birds of the same feather. These parties are instrumental for supporting the forced control of Kashmir and their role is no more secret,” he said. The Hurriyat (G) Chairman appealed to the Shia sect, saying they “should not join hands with tyrant forces and need to distinguish between right and wrong forces.” “Boycott is as Hussaini Mission. Contesting parties are canvasing for their vote and support. I appeal that all people irrespective of their religion should boycott these elections,” he added.
