SOME CRAZY DAYS … Tommy and I met in August – 50 years - TopicsExpress

SOME CRAZY DAYS … Tommy and I met in August – 50 years ago. We met on a Sunday morning and the following Thursday evening, he TOLD me I was going to marry him!! Three months later … in November of 1964 … we married. We’ve always had a lot of fun together … had some grand ‘battles’ … thought about ‘Murder’ … but never divorce!! We decided to celebrate our 50th year together … all year long. We went on a Caribbean Cruise in March, an Alaskan Cruise in June and plan to go on a New England/Canada Cruise in September and to go to Hawaii after our 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration in November. The heat is oppressive in Mesa, so we decided to go to the cabin in the mountains, take a break from the heat and continue celebrating our 50th year together. Just before we left … our six month old Standard Poodle, jumped on me, I lost my balance and hit the tile floor hard … hurting and bruising my left elbow, arm and shoulder. Arriving at the cabin, Tommy went to the well-house and I decided to turn on the fan above the dining table. I could not reach the pull cord, so climbed on a chair - it rolled, I hit the edge of the table, toppled it and crashed all the contents. I hit the tile among the shattered glass … injuring and bruising my right elbow, arm and shoulder. Tommy heard the crash and came rushing … So, now I’m in pain all over!! After two days … feeling better … we went to a local restaurant for a Fish Fry. After a wonderful, relaxing time, we went to Walmart. On the way in, I sneezed!! When I pulled my hand away from my mouth, it was full of blood. Rushing to the bathroom, I started throwing up blood and then my nose started bleeding profusely. I grabbed towels and rushed out of the bathroom with blood flowing out my nose and mouth. When Tommy saw me, dripping in blood ... he rushed me to Emergency. About 15 minutes later, they rushed me in, clamped and packed my nose … but the blood kept flowing into my mouth. Tommy was praying for me and both of us were scared. Realizing that packing and clamping my nose was not stopping the bleeding, they shoved this long, long round pad up my nose … all the way to my brain!! This caused excruciating pain, so they gave me meds for the pain. This stopped most of the bleeding, but then they informed me that I had to leave this thing up my nose for 48 hours. I really didn’t think I could endure this … and still think about jerking this thing out of my nose real often. But, I’d rather not bleed to death!! So, I’m lying in a recliner … trying to breath … strangling when I try to eat or drink … must say it has been a few crazy days!! Poor Tommy ... Not a fun way to celebrate!! Maybe I’ll lose some weight!! LOL
