SONG OF THE DAY!!! (JULY-11) The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world….(John 1:29) ### JUST AS I AM, WITHOUT ONE PLEA### Words By: Charlotte Elliott Just as I am, without one plea, But that Thy blood was shed for me, And that Thou bidst me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, and waiting not To rid my soul of one dark blot, To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, though tossed about With many a conflict, many a doubt, Fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind; Sight, riches, healing of the mind, Yea, all I need in Thee to find, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; Because Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, Thy love unknown Hath broken every barrier down; Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, of that free love The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove, Here for a season, then above, O Lamb of God, I come, I come! Amen!!!! HYMNAL CHALLENGE: This Day, I will like us to go through the brain behind this great soul-inspiring piece written by CHARLOTTE ELLIOT, and draw deep & great lessons from it; The words were written in 1836 by Charlotte Elliot and the music we sing this hymn to was written by William Bradbury. Charlotte Elliott was a sickly English woman who had developed a long history of refusing to do things she was asked to do because of her illness. Miss Charlotte Elliott was visiting some friends in the West End of London, and there met the eminent minister, César Malan. While seated at supper, the minister said he hoped that she was a Christian. She took offense at this, and replied that she would rather not discuss that question. Dr. Malan said that he was sorry if he had offended her, that he always liked to speak a word for his Master, and that he hoped that the young lady would someday become a work-er for Christ. When they met again at the home of a mutual friend, three weeks later, Miss Elliott told the minister that ever since he had spoken to her she had been trying to find her Savior, and that she now wished him to tell her how to come to Christ. “Just come to him as you are,” Dr. Malan said. This she did, and went away rejoicing. For Charlotte Elliott was learning the lesson Paul had learned .. that handicaps are not handicaps but challenges; that brokenness is but a step on the way to wholeness; that feeling like you are nothing is not a barrier to Kingdom service. CONCLUSION: The words of this great Piece highlight great benefits of coming to JESUS as you are; ***From Stanza 1: COME TO JESUS WITH ONE PLEA (FORGIVENESS) – Proverbs 28:13 ***From Stanza 2: COME TO JESUS FOR COMPLETE PURIFICATION – 1 John 1:9 ***From Stanza 3: COME TO JESUS WITH YOUR MANY PROBLEMS – (Matthew 11:28-30) ***From stanza 4: COME TO JESUS FOR GREAT PROVISION – (John 6:35) ***From stanza 5: COME TO JESUS, BECAUSE OF GREAT PROMISES (Jeremiah 29:11; Psalm 92:12) ***From stanza 6: COME TO JESUS FOR TRUE POWER (Acts 1:8; John 1:12) *** From stanza 7: COME TO JESUS & YOU WILL ENJOY PARADISE (HEAVEN) – John 14:1,2; Revelation 21:4) #### singing ### Just as I am, without One Plea, oh! Lamb of God, I come, I come………………..
