SPIRIT OF TRUTH NOT SPIRIT OF ERROR Reading from the scriptures in 1 John 4:1-3: “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, which you have heard that it should come; and even now already it is in the world” (1 John 4:1-3). Three verses under which we can establish atleast three understanding: VERSE ONE OF THE SCRIPTURES ABOVE (1 John 4:1) teaches us not to believe every spirit, but try or test the spirits to know if they are truly of God: And the reason we must learn how to disbelieve even as a believer in Christ is because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Like I said in the update below, Jesus did not just taught his disciples to believe, rather he taught them whom and what to believe. VERSE TWO OF THE SCRIPTURES ABOVE (1 John 4:2) teaches we can know the spirit that is of God by how they confess Jesus and his coming. It is very important to understand that how a man perceives Jesus can lead to death or life. Jesus asked, “Who do men say that I the son of man am?” However, he knew that no man knows the son, except the Father and no man knows the father except the Son and whomsoever the Son would reveal the Father to (Luke 10:22). The Spirit of God is primarily sent to testify of Jesus and bear witness of him, which is why He is called the Spirit of truth (John 15:26): As it is written, “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.” (1 John 5:6) Now I tell you, a man cannot know who Jesus truly is by even reading the whole bible, without the Spirit of God. Even though a man knows every word of the Bible, he still cannot know who the Son of God is, because that revelation of the Son is by the Spirit of God or by God himself. There are things which people think that by doing, one will know whom Jesus truly is, but those things are not enough to reveal the person of Christ. Those things include: either reading or hearing the bible scriptures, hearing the words of Christ and listening to preachers or observing signs and wonders. • Hearing or reading or studying the word of God is not enough to know whom Jesus truly is, but rather help more when one already has known whom Jesus is. So it is possible to see ministers who know the pages of the scriptures and can cite references of the bible, yet they do not know whom the Son of God truly is. Jesus himself expanded all the scriptures about the Son of God (himself) to two of his disciples and they knew about the scriptures, but yet did not know whom he was until he broke the bread and gave to them to have their eyes opened to know him, and he vanished out of their sight (Luke 24:25-32). With all the scriptures the teachers of the law and scribes knew about the Christ, yet they did not know him and ended up crucifying the Son of God. • Hearing the words of Christ or listening to preachers speak about Christ is not enough to make one to know whom Christ truly is, but help more when one already has known whom Christ Jesus truly is. So it is possible for one to listen to Jesus teach all the while for years, and yet not know him; the disciples have heard Jesus taught for almost two to three years, yet they did not know him until the Father revealed him to Peter and then to the three and then to the rest of them. To Peter Jesus said, “Blessed are you, Barjona, for flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven…” (Matthew 16:16-17). • Seeing and observing all the signs and wonders Jesus does and which men of God do in the name of Jesus is not enough to know whom Jesus is, but help more when one already has known whom Christ Jesus truly is. The disciples and the Jews saw his works for years, yet did not know him: As it is written, “Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet you have not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how then do you say, “Show us the Father?” Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works sake.” (John 14:9-11) Now people taught by hearing, seeing and touching Jesus is how they know him; not really. To know the Son, you need the Father to reveal Him to you: The Father with us is the Holy Spirit. Therefore, without the Holy Spirit, no man can know who the Son truly is, even though the man has heard, seen or touched Jesus: For Jesus Christ is the Mysteries of God. As it is written, “But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God no man knows, but the Spirit of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:10-11) VERSE THREE OF THE OPENING SCRIPTURES ABOVE (1 John 4:3) teaches us that any spirit that denies Jesus Christ the Son of God or that denies how he comes and his coming, is the spirit of antichrist. There was a time I mentioned Charles Russell and his erroneous teaching of whom Jesus Christ truly is to keep the Jehovah’s witness in bondage to their destruction even though they deny the existence of hell where they shall soon join their founder in his everlasting torments. I also mentioned the idolatry of the Roman Catholics in regarding their God and Creator as the son of a woman – thereby placing her above their God as the Mother of God: Thereby, they zoom to eternal destruction even though they believe in purgatory, and of recent (three weeks ago) it was rumoured that their current Pope denied the existence of hell, the existence of Adam and Eve, saying that there is no place called hell and Adam and Eve were all fairy tales, giving room to athiests and gay people to fellowship with them without reformation. I also mentioned the Muslims who walk in the lies of the Qur’an and heed to the teachings of their prophet in the dogmas and bondage of Islam. However, I particularly mentioned that Muhammed is an anti-christ. Why did I mention Muhammed is an anti-Christ? Simply because by the definition of opening Scriptures above, precisely in verse three, it is the spirit of Anti-Christ that denies Jesus Christ as the Son of God and denies his Coming and how he comes. We have many anti-christs, which show we are in the last days – the presence of many antichrists shows we are in the last days according to the scriptures below. There in the scriptures below, you will notice the last days are recognized by the presence of the antichrist and the antichrist is recognized by his denial of the Sonship and Person of Jesus Christ as God and the Son of God: As it is written “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. But you have an unction from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son. Whosoever denies the Son, the same has not the Father: (but) he that acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” (1 John 2:18-23) I am telling you this, not because you do not know the truth but, because you know the truth: As it is written, “We are of God: he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God does not hear us. Hereby we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” (1 John 4:6) Error has spirit, and but truth has greater Spirit. You must therefore, differentiate both.
