STANDFORD BRIDGE ON FIRE Jose Mourinho sacked? Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho may be sacked in the coming weeks as reports say that the owner of the club Roman Abramovich is already growing tired of the antics of the Portugese as he is constantly in the media and has failed to win any trophy in his first season back at Stamford Bridge. Mourinho is one of the most successful coaches in the history of Chelsea helping them to their first premier league title in his first reign at the club in the 2004/2005 season and followed it up with another title, the FA Cup, Carling Cup (now known as Capital One), and FA Community Shield. However, the Russian owner of the club seems to have had enough of the self-acclaimed “Special One” and this was evident when he failed to show up for Chelsea’s last game of the season despite having his usual guests; former Chelsea manager Bobby Campbell and his Russian business partners. Abramovich is known as the man that “walks with the sack letter” and coaches that has failed to win a trophy in a season has not escaped the hammer of the Russian like witnessed by current Real Madrid Gaffer, Carlo Ancelotti, Avram Grant, Andre Vilas Boas, and Luiz Felipe Scolari. Mourinho has had some spite with his current Chelsea side like he did with Real Madrid players as he attacked Eden Hazard for his criticisms on his tactics after their elimination from the Champions League semifinal by Atletico Madrid, and also constantly told the media that he has no striker despite the presence of £50m signing of Fernando Torres, former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o, and Senegalese Demba Ba. Mourinho sanctioned the sale of Chelsea’s player of the year for two years consecutively, Juan Mata to rivals Manchester United and told the world that Oscar is his preferred number 10 only to bench him for fellow Brazilian, Willian. The Portuguese is pushing new contracts for Ashley Cole, John Terry, and Frank Lampard so he will retain some loyalty among the dressing room. For now no official statement from the club or calls for a new manager at the Bridge but with Abramovich, the exit door is always closer than expected.
