STILL living successfully in the After Math of prison incarceration, we welcome back One of our 2013 RTR Honorees Diallo Madison as we collectively support, uplift and recognize our 2014 Honorees. On Saturday, August 2nd we are highlighting 11 individuals who have broken through false images and challenged the misleading misconceptions. At the ‘Recognize The Real’ Award Ceremony, we will give a platform for our loved ones to not only speak, yet to also show communities that while their words may have been silenced for quite some time, their lives now positively speak for themselves. These individuals will show that when loved ones are released back into society, recidivism is NOT always the outcome. These remarkable individuals will show that while prison by itself didnt lead to their rehabilitation, it was their personal commitment to Self that led to their transformation. The purpose of RTR is to assist our communities in seeing our loved ones as human beings 1st and being convicted of a crime 2nd. Our mission is to give loved ones currently incarcerated, those released and those who knowingly or unknowingly on their way to Prison Incarceration a real, honest example of the alternative; that transformation is possible for anyone who chooses to achieve it.
