Sad to say, our old kitty, Tigger, has departed this earth. She was brought into our lives as a kitten by Wilma Westhoff and has been a fixture ever since. She was between 16 and 17 years old. She would far have outlived her body, had it been possible, as her spirit was so strong. She never lost interest in what we were doing especially if it could be interrupted for some scratches behind the ears. For the last couple of years she has gradually lost the ability to absorb nutrients, though she ate and drank well, and her liver and kidneys were on the verge of failure. But she seemed happy and loved attention, so Mom did her best to keep her fed and comfortable. In the last few weeks, though, her extreme dehydration caused her eye swell tremendously and she was so weak. We made the hard decision yesterday, that it was time.
