Santa Claus Parade Reminders! When:Parade is on Sunday, November 30 Where: Starts at the Duncan MacDonald Arena in Centennial Park Meet at the Duncan MacDonald arena in Centennial Park. at 4:00pm. I will be checking off names until 4:15 and then I have to join our entry. (We are #25 just ahead of the Quinte Access bus if you are running late and looking for us). If parents are planning on dropping off your child and then picking them up after the parade, I suggest that after dropping off your child, drive to the Queen street area and park. Then walk back to the downtown area and await our entry to arrive. (We are #25 in the parade so we are close to the front). When our entry arrives, join in or walk along the sidewalk with the parade to the end. The parade ends on Queen Street so once we arrive, you can simply locate your child, load them in the car and off for home you go. If two parents are planning on attending, one can be dropped off with your child/children while the other drives across town to park and follow above instructions. I suggest dropping off near Frescho or Beer store area and then walk into the park. Traffic will be crazy in Centennial Park. Will only take a few minutes to walk in but well worth it to avoid the hassle of being stuck in traffic. Some of you may decide to do the the following. Park near Centennial Park near the arena or in Freshco parking lot. Then join us at the start of the parade followed by walking in the entire parade to the end. Then walk back thru town to where your ar is parked. If you do, I might suggest visiting Fraser Park along the way for the lighting of the Fantasy of Lights ceremony. There will be free hotdogs, hot chocolate and coffee served so this might be a nice treat before you and the kids head back to your car. This might also be a great time to get some Xmas pics with the kids and family at some of the great lighting displays(Dont forget your camera) Those of you who are parking near Queen street or downtown area awaiting the parade to come along may also decide to attend the lighting ceremony and festivities before heading home. The parade will end by 6pm so it wont be too late of an evening. When you arrive at the arena area to drop off your child or are planning to stay with your child, please check in with me. I want to make sure I have an accounting of everyone who is planning on attending . We dont want anyone left stranded. We are going to be assisting Quinte Access along the parade route by handing out Voter Information cards to the crowd, We will also be handing out candy. Quinte Access will be trailing us in one of their buses so if it gets too cold for some of you or the wee ones need a break, they can sit on the bus. Remember to dress warm. Walking footwear is recommended. Grab something to eat before you leave from home. No fun if you are hungry..:( Black and Gold is the colour scheme. Feel free to deck yourself out in any type of Xmas attire..the crazier the better...have fun with it..think glistening!!!:) Thats about it so please email me at duncanarmstrong@hotmail or call me at 613-397-3236 to confirm that you and your child/children are planning on attending. Some of you who where at practice the other night have given me their names so I will be calling you to re-confirm that you will be attending. ps If I forgot to mention anything please post here...
