Sarcofago etrusco 300 BC It was discovered in 1878 along with twenty other sarcophagi hypogeum of the wealthy family of Tarquinian Pulena (III century BC. C). The progenitor of Pulena had the last name Craice (Laris Pulena Craice), that the Greek: the family was therefore certainly of Greek origin. The sarcophagus of Laris Pulena is also called the Magistrate. Laris, a man of mature age, opens with a large roll in both hands, as if to show to those who enter the long inscription in the tomb. This is the most significant representation in Etruscan art of a book (papyrus, linen or leather).
