Satan Will Give Us Success to Turn Us Away from Christ - (Matthew 4:1, 8-10) Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. The devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me. Then Jesus said to him, Away with you, satan For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve. Satan has two ways he operates those are temptation and deception. Moreover these passages show the influence Satan has over this world. Satan could not offer Jesus the kingdoms of the world unless they were his to give, which in turn shows us Satan is indeed as Paul calls him, the prince of the power of the air. Therefore we should not be deceived by those who claim Satan has no influence on society, because he does. And if he cannot get us to worship him, by rejecting Christ then he will attack us with spiritual warfare. And because of this we rely on the Holy Spirit who indwell us and Gods word to resist Satan. Because it is through Christ we come before a Holy God and through Him we serve His kingdom.
