Saw 1 of the coolest things in my garden this morning. Was waiting for Toby Smith to get to bits out of the shed so we could have a gardening day and something caught my eye. On the corner of the conservatory between the panels of PVC there was a spider web. A rather unfortunate blue bottle landed in the web. In a flash the spider shot out of the small gap and grabbed the fly, still twitching was dragged into the lair of the spider. Still twitching and putting up a good fight but the spider got a good meal. The spider must have been about 3/4 the size of it. The fly was doomed but was very good to watch. Sir David Attenborough made it cool on the tv but to actually watch in real life was even better.
