Schools Out, Hungers Not Monday, June 23, 2014 - 12:00am - Friday, June 27, 2014 - 12:00am Hunger doesnt take a summer break when school food programs do. During the summer months 1 in 4 San Diego children go hungry, loosing access to critical school subsidized breakfast and lunch programs. Existing food challenges are a reality for approximately 1 out of every 5 families in San Diego creating a significant need for countless hungry kids in the local community. From June 23-June 27, participating branches of California Bank & Trust in San Diego will host a canned food drive in partnership with the nations leading domestic hunger-relief charity Feeding America San Diego to collect non-perishable food items for local children in need. The Schools out, Hungers Not food drive aims to provide nutritional meals for San Diegos food-insecure children, bridging the gap between hunger and hope during summer vacation. The following California Bank & Trust Branches: La Mesa, El Cajon, Mission Gorge, Alpine, San Diego, Vista, GTO, Emerald Plaza, Scripps-Poway, City Heights, Encinitas, La Jolla, Hillcrest, Rancho San Diego, Rancho Bernardo and Kearny Mesa.
