Schquat wot yo momma gave you! 130kg for 6 reps last night. A normal day at the office My usual set up is getting that bar super tight around my back and in a lower bar position - I cant go high bar as I get very bad lower back pains - though a higher bar will enable you to squat in a more vertical position. As you can see, I dig the bar right in just under my traps, and make sure my hands are in a hook grip position. Before un-racking the bar I take a big deep breath and release when un-racked . I only take two steps backwards too, to conserve energy. Before entering the eccentric (downward) phase, the head goes up, and a big deep breath goes in (releasing on the concentric/upward phase). Everything is super tight and controlled. I have my belt on underneath my jumper, for lower back and core support. When watching the video back, I noticed that I did a bit of a good morning on that second rep - something I need to work on - stop using my back so much, especially since Im doing a body building programme at the minute! Ive already narrowed my stance too, so as to activate/engage my quads and glutes more, which feels very different to my normal wider stance. However Im looking for all round better muscle development in my legs, so gotta suck it up and fix what needs to be fixed in order to progress! You never know your limits until you push yourself outside your comfort zone! We only got 2 reps on video, but the other 4 reps were better in form so Darragh said anyways. My eyes were roaring red afterwards from the tension. Ha! I looked like a mad woman! Fricking love squats!!! #strong #powerful #strongishappy #strongerANDleaner
