Security measures routinely implemented at Suncorp Stadium when risk levels rise will be in place for this Sunday’s Intrust Super Cup Grand Final. Stadium General Manager, Alan Graham said in light of the recent upgrading of the National Terrorism Alert to “high”, the Stadium had revised security measures based on the Queensland Police Service’s expertise and risk assessment. “This is not something new and we don’t want to create any alarm in the current climate. It’s simply implementing prudent measures to help ensure patron safety. Mr. Graham said the most noticeable measure for patrons would be 100% bag checks as they entered the Stadium on Sunday which could result in some delays at the gates. “To help avoid delays, we encourage everyone to arrive earlier than what they might have and avoid bringing bags or backpacks. “Security arrangements for future events at the Stadium will be revised on a case by case basis having regard to the QPS risk assessment in each instance at that time,” he concluded.
