Seekers will try to simulate what their guru did before their awakening. If they are of the Zen tradition, they will meditate and try to quiet the mind. If they fell into Advaita, they will try to discover the relevance of self. Christians ask themselves what Christ would have done. In truth all attempts to transcend the limitations of self are useless and are undertaken by the very mechanism that is trying to be discovered. They are all symptoms of the disease and not the cause of its resolution.(MM)
