Self Sufficiency is not a new idea but seems to appear more often when things seem shaky. It happened back in the 70 before Tricky Dick made a pack with the devil (the Saudis) and created the petrol dollar as the world currency. Now the petrodollar is losing its status as the worlds reserve currency and the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) are planning to abandon it and create a new world currency. The petrodollar era will end soon and we will see that tin can that was kicked down the road 40 years ago is right in front of us again. Have you noticed that in this press release economy that nothing makes sense? Production, jobs and GNP are down but the stock market is up. The major retail sector is doing poorly but the reports from the financial sector are just rosey. Thus we might all think about how we might grow food and become energy self sufficient.
