September 16, 2013 WUFO Job Opportunity - Account Executive Department: Sales Reports to: Local Sales Manager Employment Category: FT/Staff General Purpose and Scope of Position: To represent WUFO in a professional manner in all sales situations and be capable of bringing in new business, selling all special events and non-traditional business packages. Moreover, the account executive should be able to handle all agency or transactional business accounts and meet individual monthly budget goals set by the station and or management. Position Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Responsible for prospecting and developing new business 2. Knowledge of every piece of broadcasting business coming out of his or her agencies. 3. Ability to pitch the station with both passion and creativity in order to get the business. 4. Continuously pre-selling the station regardless if there is any specific buy on the table. 5. Produce written presentations with each submission giving the buyer or client reasons to buy the station 6. Possess a stronger relationship with his or her agencies or clients than the competition. 7. Ability to accurately project and forecast business. 8. Keep management aware of all key pending business. 9. Accountability on all deadlines of assignments. 10. Awareness that the sales process is not finished until all receivables are in the house. 11. Achieve all sales budgets set forth by management. Critical Position Behaviors: 1. Time Management – The ability to organize time in order to successfully complete tasks and goals. 5. Dependability/Reliability – Demonstrates an orientation towards consistent actions with honest and sound judgments. Ability to be a resource. 6. Adaptability/Flexibility – Ability to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations and with various individuals and groups. Understanding and appreciating different and opposing perspectives, adapting one’s approach as the requirements of the situation change. 7. Follow-up – The ability to complete small and big tasks proactively and timely, to see a project through to its completion. Experience, Knowledge and Skills: Some college education preferred. Former sales experience or sales training. Computer knowledge a plus. Strong written and oral presentation skills. Possess a positive attitude towards and cooperation with station policies. Marketing expertise in several categories. Effective use and knowledge of research information. Ability to establish priorities and have good time management skills.
