September 16 will be an important and historic day for Chhattisgarh which has been marching fast towards energy revelation and green revolution, when the people of the State would get the gift of two new projects from the Raman Government. On September 16, former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani will dedicate 500 MW capacity power plant under the Hasdeo hydro electric extension project of the power generation company of the State Government at Korba to the nation and perform bhumi poojan for Arpa-Bhainsajhar irrigation project. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, other ministers and senior leaders will also participate in the programme. Advani will address public meetings at both the programmes. In the evening Advani will leave for Delhi by special plane. Under the leadership of chief Minister Raman Singh, who is also the in-charge Minister of energy department, the State Government, in a work plan made to increase the production capacity of its power company, had constructed a new 250 MW unit under the Hasdeo Hydro Electric project in Korba. The 500 MW unit is the second important achievement of the State Government. Rs 3,671 crore has been spent on this project. With the functioning of this project, the power production capacity of the State would be increased from 1,924 MW to 2,424 MW. It is the biggest unit of the Chhattisgarh Power Generation Company, an undertaking of the State Government
