Serena Agusto-Cox tagged me last week for this round of the #10bookchallenge, and thanks to Tara, Beth and Rick for tagging me since then. First time I did this a year or so back, I ended up jotting down a list of heavy books that challenged me emotionally and intellectually. This time, lasting impression focuses on those most impressionable years—and cheats a little on that phrase 10 books.... The rules: list 10 books that made a lasting impression on you, then tag a few people to do the challenge too. 1. The Nancy Drew mysteries (always and forever—and how could I possibly pick just one?) 2. The Three Investigators books 3. Encyclopedia Brown 4. Fat Men From Space by Daniel Manus Pinkwater 5. Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne (lessons to live by) 6. The first years of my long, long subscription to Ellery Queens Mystery Magazine (still cant believe Ive now been published there myself) 7. The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino (one of two books my dad asked me to read when I was in middle school) 8. Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach (the other) 9. Illusions by Richard Bach (read that one on my own) 10. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein (but not The Lord of the Rings; only ever made it halfway through the trilogy) Tagging: Kara Oakleaf and Suzy Rigdon (to give them a break during Fall For The Book) and Brandon Wicks
