Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in the New Beginnings Baptist Church, 4104 East 151st St., Bixby, OK with interment following in the Calvary Cemetery officiated by Dr. Larry DeLay Robert Edward Westphal was born on April 18, 1942 in Fremont, Nebraska to James Westphal and Pearl (Bang) Westphal. He passed from this life on June 9, 2013 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 1 month & 22 days. “Bob” had been a resident of the Bixby community since 1992. He was the co-founder and owner of Wesmar Racing Engines and was extremely beloved and respected within the racing community. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 49 years, Norma Rae (Law) Westphal whom he married on February 8, 1964 in Fremont, Nebraska as well as by 1 son; Kelly Westphal of Bixby, 1 daughter; Kristi Jean Anderson and husband Norman, of Bixby, 3 brothers; Neal Westphal and wife Joan, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Steve Westphal and wife June, of Fremont, Nebraska & Mike Westphal of North Bend, Nebraska, 6 grandchildren; Kurtis Jordan Westphal, Kory James Soendker, Kinsie Shianne Anderson, Andrew Jordan Westphal, Derek Anderson & Halley Anderson, 2 great-grandchildren; Katelyn & Kiercie Westphal and several other relatives and great friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Steve King Foundation, 24583 N.W. 208 Rd., Jetmore, KS 67854.
