Seven things you didnt know about me. 1 - I like classic movies, including silent films. Tonight I just finished watching Shanghai Express (1932). Of the film I really enjoy the performance of the actress Anna May Wong, and do like the overall old-world setting of the film. 2 - I have two degrees, a Masters in IT and what is not overly known is my other degree, a BA in History. My focus is in Asian History. At the time of graduation LSU did not offer a major in Asian History, only a minor. However, by the credit hours I had more than enough credit to satisfy a major if it had been offered. The following year it was offered, though, but already I had moved on. 3 - For enjoyment I read books and have a sizable collection of books of all types. What I enjoy the most are classic literature and I must admit I dont have enough of these. But Im into Science Fiction and Fantasy genres as well as political history. Its been always a dream to have wall-to-wall stacks of books. But now days Im a little more practical and have been expanding my ebook collection, especially with technical computer books. 4 - My main hobby is programming. Its what I do professionally and as a hobby. Most folks online these days are going to be familiar with my efforts with the DioWarriors web site, but where I shine is when I do actual programs, not just web sites. I am a Windows programmer and my preferred language is Visual Basic. In this I am proficient with all flavors of Visual Basic including VB for DOS, VB classic, and VB.NET. But Im not just a VB programmer. Im also well versed with C and C#, Java, and various scripting languages. 5 - Another hobby of mine is 3D rendering, printing, and CAD. My first job was working with AutoCAD at the age of 15, transferring designs for automatic doors done on paper into AutoCAD. Since then I have been using some form of CAD software to design 3D models for use with rendering programs and now with 3D printers. 6 - I love traveling and have traveled all over the world and lived (not visit) in more than three countries in both Asia and Central America. Likewise my family is also scattered all over the world. I have relatives in both hemispheres. Just another reason to go traveling. :-) 7 - I am a very conservative person, politically and religiously. I am Christian and have a deep respect and reverence for God and Jesus and all things of the Bible. I have been involved with and dated even Muslim, Sikh, and Buddhist girls. I am not ignorant of science nor of the doctrines of other religions, and I am by no means close minded. Yet in all of my life experiences the one constant that has always been dear to me, never abandoned me even in my darkest, nightmarish, and painful moments, has been God.
