Should Women wear Tzitzits??? So everyone here, except newcomers, is well aware that we are all about learning how to live the laws of YaHuWAH....We are moving away from our own hearts desires, to that of our Father YaHuWaH (Proverbs 28:26) We understand that the Tuwrah (law/instruction) is something that we must actually perform. We understand that the writing of Tuwrah on our hearts means that he gives us a love to perform his Tuwrah. (Proverbs 3:1-3, 7:3-4, Jeremiah 31:32-33) With that being said, I would like to write this note concerning a command that there seems to be a need to discuss. The Commandment to Wear Tzitzit (Fringes) This is a command, not an option! Remember Proverbs 28:9 He who turns away his ear from hearing the Tuwrah, Even his prayer is an abomination. Num 15:37 And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, Num 15:38 “Speak to the children of Yasharal, and you shall say to them to make tzitziyot1 on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue cord in the tzitzit1 of the corners. Footnote: 1“Tzitzit” - plural Tzitziyot. Num 15:39 “And it shall be to you for a tzitzit, and you shall see it, and shall remember all the commands of יהוה and shall do them, and not search after your own heart and your own eyes after which you went whoring, Num 15:40 so that you remember, and shall do all My commands, and be set-apart unto your Aluhym . Num 15:41 “I am יהוה your Aluhym, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, to be your Aluhym I am יהוה your Aluhym.” Deu 22:12 “Make tassels on the four corners of the garment with which you cover yourself. The commandment says: Numbers 15:39 says you shall SEE it. They must be worn so that they are visible (not tucked in). There are no exceptions made in the Tuwrah for this! This means that they must be worn EVERY time that you are wearing your garments. (Not just during prayer times.) He said they should be on the four corners of the garment which you cover yourself. Are you covered? Are they on the four corners of your garment? They should be worn attached to the four corners of the outer garment. (They must be seen!) Each of the four fringes must contain one cord of blue. (Blue (תּכלת, tekhēleth, a color from the cerulean mussel): This word was applied only to fabrics dyed with a special blue dye obtained from a shellfish.) Notice here it says Blue it should have been translated Takeleth and not just Blue; because its also violet in color. If you buy it or somebody makes you one. You must only wear the real true scriptural Takeleth and not some man made blue or Violet knock out. Or we worship Him in vain and disobey His instructions of were his Takeleth must come from: Hebrew 8504 תכלת Pronunciation takeleth Probably for 7827; the cerulean mussel, that is, the color (violet) obtained therefrom or stuff dyed therewith:--blue. While white is the traditional color for the other cords, no particular color other than the one blue/violet cord is specified. The commandment is to the children of Yasharal . So, should women wear them? Some people ask whether or not women should wear them, and while there are those who would say no, the commandment is fairly clear that it is for all of YaHuWaHs people, and not just men. If you are new to this and choose to obey this commandment, DO NOT LET ANYONE (from Yahudah or otherwise) discourage you. Some WILL try to do so. This is an example of Yahudah vexing Ephraim in these last days (Isa. 11:13). If we look at the Hebrew word for children, it is the word בּן pronounced “bane”, and it means BDB Definition: 1) son, grandson, child, member of a group 1a) son, male child 1b) grandson 1c) children (plural - male and female) 1d) youth, young men (plural) 1e) young (of animals) 1f) sons (as characterisation, i.e. sons of injustice [for unrighteous men] or sons of God [for angels]) 1g) people (of a nation) (plural) 1h) of lifeless things, i.e. sparks, stars, arrows (figuratively) 1i) a member of a guild, order, class In the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon we also see son and daughter. Nm) ( BN) - Son: One who continues the family line. [Hebrew and Aramaic; Transforms to when used in the possessive] [freq. 4925] |kjv: son, children, old, first, man, young, stranger, people| {str: 1121, 1123, 1247} Nf2) ( B-NT) - Daughter: Also a village that resides outside of the city walls as the daughter of the city. [df: ] [freq. 588] |kjv: daughter, town, village, first, apple, branches, children, company, eye, old| {str: 1323} Also in Strongs a son (as a builder of the family name), in the widest sense (of literal and figurative relationship, including grandson, subject, nation, quality or condition, etc., (like H1, H251, etc.): - + afflicted, age, [Ahoh-] [Ammon-] [Hachmon-] [Lev-]ite, [anoint-]ed one, appointed to, (+) arrow, [Assyr-] [Babylon-] [Egypt-] [Grec-]ian, one born, bough, branch, breed, + (young) bullock, + (young) calf, X came up in, child, colt, X common, X corn, daughter, X of first, + firstborn, foal, + very fruitful, + postage, X in, + kid, + lamb, (+) man, meet, + mighty, + nephew, old, (+) people, + rebel, + robber, X servant born, X soldier, son, + spark, + steward, + stranger, X surely, them of, + tumultuous one, + valiant[-est], whelp, worthy, young (one), youth. So, from this, we can see that this word “bane” can mean both son and daughter, and it is used to mean both son and daughter in several places throughout scripture. The question is, does it mean just son, or both, son and daughter, in this instance? It is obvious that the translators thought it meant both in this instance; otherwise they would have chosen a word other than children to use, such as son… Something else to consider is what the purpose of the command is…. According to scripture, the purpose of the command is so that you will see the tzitzit and remember the Tuwrah. Do only men need to remember YaHuWaHs Tuwrah, or do both men and women need to remember his Tuwrah? Remember, there is only one Tuwrah for both the native born, and the stranger. Exodus 12:49 (49) “There is one Tuwrah for the native-born and for the stranger who sojourns among you.” Leviticus 24:22 (22) ‘You are to have one right-ruling, for the stranger and for the native, for I am יהוה your Aluhym’ ” Numbers 15:16 (16) ‘One Tuwrah and one right-ruling is for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you.’ ” So, considering that this word “bane” can mean children as in both son and daughter, and the command is given so that we will look and see the tassel and remember YaHuWaHs commands; And considering that there is only one law for the native born Yasharalites, and the stranger; And considering that this is a command given in the Tuwrah in which the Messiah didn’t come to destroy (See Mattew 5:17-19), then YES women should be wearing them! They should be wearing them according to the law, which means it should be visible, and on the four corners of your garments in which you are dressed. So if you are dressed, you should have visible tassels on the corners of your clothing with the blue/violet thread. I hope this note will shed some light on the subject.
