Should latter-day saints gain a testimony of the Book Of Abraham - TopicsExpress

Should latter-day saints gain a testimony of the Book Of Abraham as well as the Book of Mormon? Do we really understand why those pictured facsimiles were placed in the Book of Abraham ? If not then why are we not seeking the answers? We would be wise to notice the parallels between the Egyptian religion and the application of Abrahams correct (facsimile number twos) explanation and renditions. First of all, We must acknowledge that these facsimiles obviously represent a Pagan interpretation that originated from the Egyptian religion. such facsimiles were anciently created as a Pagan representations possibly being overlooked by some LDS apologists today. Why do I say this? The purpose for placing these facsimiles into the book of Abraham was given for one purpose stated within the scripture itself. that you may have an understanding of these (false) gods Abraham 1:14 Therefore the facsimiles were not given to us to combine Paganism together with the gospel of Abraham. Otherwise you end up trying to correlate Idolatry with gospel teachings.. What might God have intended for you to understand about these false gods? God tells you in this verse. I have come down to visit these gods in order to destroy them. Abraham 17:20 Could this be that confusion we are failing to understand concerning these facsimiles which might explain what the prophet wanted you and I to discern? Satan was counterfeiting the religion of Abraham and using it to deceive the children of Adam. Why else might God have sent Abraham to Egypt if not to testify against these false gods? How do we then discern the purpose for the facsimile two? In the Book of Abraham upon one side of the page there is a representation of Abrahams true religion that he taught to the ancient Egyptians. The corresponding facsimile on the opposite page of the Book represents the Pagan counterfeit or the Egyptian version inspired by Satan which modified the true gospel into Idolatry. Why else would Abraham be risking his life testifying against their false gods causing Egypts religious hierarchy to attempt to kill him? Why is this a false religion not to be associated at all with the Abrahams religion anciently and today? Consider this example, the four sons of Horus from facsimile two do not represent the true gospel and neither could a Penal god depicted in the center of the creation scene. These things could never be taught as Church doctrine in a Sunday school lesson as they appear as a canonized examples in Abrahams book. Why? We simply do not recognize the Egyptian God Horus nor his four son gods shown in facsimile one, or two and even three as part of a church doctrine though it is canonized. I believe my point is factually based within all biblical and modern scripture everywhere. Posing this important question for all LDS members! ... What are we to understand from these facsimile examples? Are we not to recognize that the facsimiles represent an abomination of Gods true religion and thereby it would be a mistake to try and fit them into the true gospel. We end up trying to steady the Ark by drawing up our own correlations therefore trying to justify gospel symbolisms lining up with evil symbols of Idolatry? Why? The supposed similarities do not represent the true gospel but are literally an abomination and a Satanic counterfeit of the true gospel. You might compare a genuine hundred dollar bill with a counterfeit bill by noting their similar appearances while knowing they could never represent the same thing.. One is always true and the other is always false. Therefore discerning that these contrasting figures are NOT TRUE PARALLELS and therefore not hope to discover a way to make them into gospel parallels at all. You must discern why they are not gospel parallels and never will be gospel parallels instead. I understand that an LDS scholar known for his facsimile interpretations of Abraham has recently apostatized from the church. Obviously by doing the same things over and over again never bring a ourselves a different result if the wrong understanding of the matter is being applied to the wrong understanding of the problem. Could this be a spiritual lesson to help us to have discernment and helping us recognize the difference between false doctrine and true doctrine?. Please watch the video and pray about it.
