Sikkim delegation meets Union tribal affairs minister Gangtok, 27 Nov 2014: Sikkim’s tourism and industry minister Ugen Gyatso Bhutia, Rajya Sabha MP Hishey Lachungpa and Lok Sabha MP PD Rai on Wednesday called on Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram in New Delhi. The visitors extended their best wishes to the minister and the central government for the ongoing winter session of Parliament. They apprised Oram on the demands made by the Sikkim government requested him to expedite their fulfilment. The minister on his part informed the delegation the demands were already being reviewed. He also assured them that matters related to states would be taken up on priority basis by the Centre, adding this directive has come from Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. (PR)
