Simon saw Dr. Teodori, his heart surgeon, this afternoon. To cover everything we discussed would be way too confusing, so we will sum it up with Dr. Teodori wants to see him gain some weight and have a stronger nutrition stance before performing the surgery. He would feel more confident doing it if he knew we had strengthened Simon as much as possible from all view points. We added some g-tube infusions through out the day in order to bolster his calorie intake and are hoping this will not only put weight on him, but also allow for Simon to have less struggles with his blue spells and loss of stamina. We are postponing the Fontan until late summer, tentatively. Dr. Teodori would like to see Simon again in July and we will determine then if he is truly ready for this procedure or if we will try and carry him through the winter. Thank you to all who have prayed with us about the outcome of todays appointment. We are happy and comfortable with the doctors point of view. As always, we are praising God for lining up such an amazing team of doctors for Simon!!!
