Since I know Marzia Alati and Alberto Carozzi personally, Im sure about the value of their project. But, for the ones who dont know them, here is a description THROUGH LAND END SEA - Migrant tales on live music The project is still growing and we hope soon to be able to have the resources to publish the bookl with all the sixteen stories and the CD with songs for performance, so that we can disclose all sixteen stories. The musical stories are aimed at all those who want to leave, travel and discover. The project Through land and sea is the result of a research work lasted two years. Interviews with women, men and young immigrants who live in the city of Milan. The meetings could take place sometimes in the city, in a bar, in a park or in the library. More often people were interviewed in their homes where they could create moments of sharing. The interviews were sixteen and sixteen are the stories that have been written . Each person interviewed left a totem item. It does not matter if the sea , the train , the plane or even the wind brought this items . What matters is that behind every object, image, sound there is someone who has walked , someone who has travelled , someone who has things to tell. A little red boat was left in every house as a symbol of the meeting. Through and and sea is the reading of three of these stories : - a woman born in Morocco, - a political refugee, born in Pakistan, - a mother born in China. The reading is supported by music composed and played by Alberto Carozzi . The pieces were designed specifically for each individual story. The words and music come together in a choir , in order to tell a unique story . The public will itself become traveller participating, watching, listening ... Through land and sea was born within a larger project called Currents of wings. The Currents of wings was organized by the Library of Cesate with the support of the administration of the city of Cesate and the finances of Cariplo Foundation. The Library has been the main supporter but the project has had several partners : Association Cultural Gardens of the Arts of Milan, Associazione Onlus Contrasts, Arci Cesate .
